When I was a little girl, my family and I would go camping, and we would take hikes in the woods. Whenever we crossed a bridge, my dad would tell my sister and I this story.
My dad is dead now, and I decided to look this up. I really miss those camping trips.

@sophiatiers This is an old children's tale. Don't blame the narrator, as she was following the story as it is. I agree that the story should be revised however.

The narrator had a lovely voice and told the story well but her grammer was wrong. The verb to be never takes an object. The goats should say, "It is I, little billy goat gruff" etc. not it's me. Is is a form of the verb to be. It's important to teach children good grammer in our stories.
