Noticed that, too. Myst III was the only one that required you to go and do Ages.

Can you really call this the "good ending"? It seems to me that no matter what ending we choose, Atrus is going to be bummed about something.

I think his acting is more "real". Sort of like if he was actually telling you how he felt. You can sort of feel his pain...
