On Dec. 2, 2007 an incredibly strong Pacific storm came up the coast of Oregon and Washington. Some of the highest windspeeds recorded since the Columbus Day Storm Oct. 12, 1962, leveled forests in areas along the coast. Two day event with winds from 75 mph to 120+.
This view is of Haystack Rock, as the storm was coming ashore.
I'm from eastern Ohio and have been here. There was a bit of a 'breeze' coming in off the Ocean that day, I had no coat or jacket on, it was late May and I about frooze to death!
