  • Unfortunately I am not. If I was, my daughter would be in a gold plated high chair.

  • Please see the new video entitled 'Emily reading at 17 months' to see how she's going now !

  • sounds like she really wants her mommy lol

  • 1:13 - it says pig,

And at 1:15, it sounds like she said "daddy"" haha :D

    omg, shes so cute,

    and very clever!

  • @Cafeblanx Memorization is the first run of the reading ladder for babies, and then kids begin to naturally deduce the rules of phonics so they can decode new words they have never seen before. I taught my own children this way, and yes, my two year old is reading at a second grade level and decodes all kinds of new words and absolutely adores books. Videos and a link to the software we used are available on my channel. Teaching your baby to read is one of the best things you can do for them!

  • awwwwwwww so adorable she can talk really good how long as she been learning to read omg i cant get over how cute she is!

  • Of course she recognises the 'picture' of the word! Thats how everybody learns to read! But equally she will also begin to recognise the letters so even if shes never seen a new word she will recognise the letter and remember the sound that they made and piece together the way the word should sound.

Shes a very clever little girl but then every child has this potential, especially with this DVD and the effort the parent puts into play/read with them.

  • awww

  • I've seen this done before and the children seem to enjoy it - coupling this with baby-sign language helps to develop thier brains brilliantly.

But then again, it doesn't make them any more or less intelligent than somebody who learned to read when they started school.

  • I was just wondering how you started teaching your daughter this? My godson is three and we're having a hard enough time getting him to talk.

  • omg, cuuteee :D and smart. lol

  • wow!!
