LANTZVILLE - A ravine in Lantzville is becoming a garbage dump - much to the dismay of people who live in the area.
It's an area frequented by party goers, but it's also becoming a popular place to get rid of yard waste, household garbage and even furniture - much of which is ending up in Bloods Creek.
Blood Creek is a habitat for wild Coho.
The road above, used to be connected to the highway and is now a popular party ground - and there's lots of litter as evidence. But it's the garbage getting into the creek that has people really concerned.
There's a well worn path around the concrete barriers put up to keep people out of the area.
The Nanoose and Lantzville Streamkeepers have been planning a cleanup of the site using volunteers and donated equipment. A date for the work party has not yet been set.
