Another enormous work by Karlheinz Stockhausen, here is "Mixtur" (2003), for 5 orchestra groups, 4 sine-wave generator players, 4 sound mixers, with 4 ring modulators and sound projectionist, presented here with both versions (forward, then retrograde). Please keep in mind that this is a different work from the older piece, "Mixtur"; it is easy to get them confused, because beyond the similarity in title, they're also both for that rather odd ensemble.

  • Thanks for this! Is that the covert art? (mm, i believe not, Stockhausen draw all his covers), it seems a Paul Klee painting.

How can you upload long pieces like this?

  • Splendid composition in which orchestra and sinus generators play as equal instruments without the usual divisions between electronics and acoustic instruments.
