I like this comment. yes, the pagans were regarded as satanic by the christians - perhaps satanism was actually derived from paganism. pagainism was a belief system that dealt greatly with the physical world - it dealt with living off the land, working for your survival, concepts of sex as well as looking to the future by being strong. that contrasted with the 'spiritual' christianity whom nietzsche would say were hostile to life.
