The only ones to come out of this shameful debacle with their integrity intact are the FBI. In late 2001, they refused to get involved in this mess. Their director had the foresight to know that it would end very badly for the USA, and he said so. It's on the public record. He said that the CIA would take the heat for this. He was right.

You make some good points. You're right, waterboarding is not the same as chinese water torture. I think it's worse, but you are right and I was wrong.
The fact that there was an investigation and a trial is the reason that we know so much about what the Japanese did. Maybe after we really look into what happened, we can say that the Japanese did "FAR FAR FAR" more.

Bullshit.
1) Chinese water torture is different. It involes immobilizing a person and slowly driping water on his head to drive him crazy. that is NOT the same as water boarding.
2) Japan did FAR FAR FAR more than what is in these US documents. They shocked testicles with car batteries and executed prisoners after the torture interrogations were over. Over a quarter of their POWs were killed. All but 56 of their Chinese prisoners were murdered.

Turley is one of the few people who speak cogently on this subject. We should be guided by the law. The law tells us what to do, it would be simple to follow it. It would do more to demonstrate to the world that we've returned to the rule of law than any number of fine words from Obama.
And Rove... Every day that egotistical little pig gets to run around outside jail is a slap in the face to every decent American. Too bad Piggy had Michael Connell rubbed out before he could testify.

The post-Nuremberg defense:
"I was just following the legal guidelines
I told my attorney to write down."
-
I'd be happy if they just got Rove. I hate that smug little pig.

I thought the "I was just following orders" defense was abandoned after the Nuremberg trials. Is that what the administrators of the torture are trying to say? I agree with Turley. I have no more sympathy for these sick fuckers than I do for the Nazis who opperated the gas chambers or the Japanese officers who committed war crimes (waterboarding BTW). I'd also like to hear people call it what it was called for the fifty years before the war on terrorism; "Chinese water torture".
People who violate the law we call criminals.
