Formed just ten years ago, the African Union has quickly become a key institution in the continent for building peace and stability as well as dealing with common issues affecting all 54 countries. In this video China Daily reporter D J Clark visits the new 800 million RMB Africa Union headquarters donated by China to investigate why supporting the institution is important for long term food security in the continent.

  • Chinese and African need more communication and cultural exchange between them.

  • wow,....not many intelligent comments about this issue. for my view,if china and its various african "partners" deal in a humane and mutually beneficial way. in theory this could work for both sides. needless to say,if this is just another usurper or rapist relationship developing. that is the last thing the continent needs. the number one "friend" africans need is each other.

  • As a graduate of the prestigious AAU, Moges was expected to effectively communicate in English. Performance should validate all claims as that it is the only authentic measuring factor to show competency. All universities in Ethiopia should give more emphasis to quality by demanding students to show utmost endeavor while in school & pass exit exams before graduation. The 21st century demands rivalry among different stakeholders & it is the best qualified who is most likely to succeed.
