  • "A young man who is not a liberal has no heart and an old man who is not a conservative has no brains."?

Money has been spent, yes, but (as I see it) in all the wrong places.

Give a man a fish and he will be hungry tomorrow. Teach a man to fish and he will eat every day.

This government has shouted "Education, education, education" but the reality has been a mass Dumbing down.

It is pure Newspeak and we are all living in NuLabour's ugly dystopian world. Don't fall for the lies. Wake up!

  • The grant system abolished so the youth pay through the nose for an education!

Highest ever GCSE scores = biggest ever con. The goal posts have just been moved. What use is a GCSE in boiling a kettle?

A heating allowance, even to rich people who don't need it? Just today there was a letter in the Times from a man who was complaining that he was rich enough not to need it, so why (he asked) did he get it?

You are spinning bullshit. You are Alastair Campbell and I claim my £10.

  • "Age discrimination", Yes, OK. I do discriminate. Why? I work in a GPs surgery. I deal with the rude "entitlement generations" every day. The first thing I have to ask patients when they call is their date of birth. Most who give a post 1980s, post Thatcher dob are unfriendly, uncivilised, whining entitlement freaks who treat us NHS staff like bloody machines.

You might be different, I don't know. What I do know is that one CAN generalise.

You may be one of the few exception that make the rule.

  • I take offense to that 'Yoof' thing. Age discrimination right there.

I'm a committed Socialist, old labour. I vote labour because voting any party other than them or the Tories is a wasted vote. Their willingness to drive social policies and equality dear to me is what keep me on their side.

Don't you dare stereotype me, some of us are set on making a difference after the fuck ups of the babyboomers later years.

  • @tomgftw1 You don't get it do you. I was at Molesworth. I ran the Legalise Cannabis Campaign. I was at the first Glastonbury. I've done more pavement pounding for CND than you've had hot dinners and I stood on picket lines with the miners getting clobbered by the police.

Then I saw Greenpeace, The Labour Party and others all hijacked by the Right and I ask myself... why did I bother? For the "yoof" of today who instead of protesting Uni fees, sued their lecturers! You deserve to inherit 1984.

  • go forth and dont come back take your mock tudor beams with you

  • Oh I forgot ,they did get us the Olympics - Ha Ha!! Another Tony Blair gem that - deflect attention from Iraq I think. Good idea that Labour - instead of spending the money on the country's infrastructure we'll waste it on a sporting jamboree. How useless can a Government be I ask??? How much over budget is it now-and its only 2010....

  • The iconic symbol of New Labour's period of rule -- is -- wait-- the useless PCSO - 26k a year and no powers of arrest! Ride the buses in rush hour when not needed - but at night??/ Ha,hopeless- all gloss and no substance that Labours recipe for a broken Britain. Good riddance to you idle bunch of losers come election time - couldnt run a bath.

  • What a hypocrite - You 2 jags,3 pads and your ilk have ruined this country - what good have you done for the uk in all your years in power???

Crime and total lack of punishment - under Labour you are more likely to be imprisoned for non payment of council tax than if you were caught beating someone to within an inch of their life in the street.

Immigration? Ha,buffoons - lets let in tens of thousands of asylum seekers and 5th columnists to bomb us.

Economy- it wasnt the banks but dumbo Brown..

  • Prescott you fat, two faced, cheating, hypercritical, bloated, cunt faced areshole....how are you mate?.....your wife forgiven you yet?.....hurry up with the heart attack and die....ta ta

  • gofourth is a waste of time and money. i myself have had direct involvement with them and it has not once showed me that it has any worth what so ever. its just a forum for people like prescot to look as if they care..... im sure he does care but thats what annoys me the most about socialists. they care more about the things they cant fix than the things they can

  • I'm not young enough to know everything any more. I used to think that I knew it all just like you obviously do.

Read some political philosophy. "Two Treatises on Civil Government" by John Locke (1689) would be a good place to start. Then maybe Immanuel Kant as a contrast.

Learn about the folly of Utilitarianism.

If you really knew about justice you wouldn't be singing the praises of "equality". There is nothing noble about equality and trying to achieve it artificially is not true progress.
