Reconciliation is not easy in a place like Iraq.
The so-called 'de-Baathification' of Iraqi society following the American invasion, saw members of the former regime hunted down and excluded from any role in the post-Saddam era. The efforts to bring justice culminated on December 30th, 2006 in the hanging of Saddam Hussein, the former Iraqi president.
Amnesty and leniency remains in short supply when it comes to other Saddam's former aides.
It's impossible for any of Saddam's government to get a fair trial in Iraq because of 1) American spite and pressure 2) Risk of assassination of judiciary, prosecutors and defence 3) Unfair procedures. The trials should be moved out of Iraq to, for example, The Hague.

I think this whole executing members of the previous government has turned into a joke, the new government should just throw them in prison and leave them there. What good is executing Tariq Aziz going to do, except piss off Iraqi Christians
