∞ Scars and Souvenirs [Happy Birthday, Sanne!]

PLEASE READ!

So, I made this for Sanne's (Sannex7's) birthday, which is today (Go wish her a happy birthday!). I really hope you like it, because you have no idea how amazing you are. You've seriously done so much for me, and tons of other people. You are such an amazing friend, Sanne. I don't know what I'd do without you! :3
I'm sorry about the craptastic story (and masking haha), but I wanted to make sure this was uploaded on time. We all know how good I am at procrastinating. xD

STORY:

Everything was gone. All the fighting and hatred caused Rinoa to lose everything. She realized that she could not place her trust in anyone, lest she be betrayed. She found herself running through a barren field, searching for anything to hold on to. Eventually she collapsed to the ground and closed her eyes, and just then flowers flew all around her. Petals tangled in her dark hair, and she had to throw her arm up to shield her eyes from the blinding light. Suddenly, everything went dark.

Rinoa could hear waterfalls while smell of sweet flowers hung in the air. Her eyes fluttered open, adjusting to the new light. She lifted her head from the soft flowers and brought herself to her feet, scanning the area. There were waterfalls, cliffs, and millions of multicolored flowers growing right beneath her feet. A thin fog engulfed the beautiful scene.

'Where am I?' Rinoa thought to herself. She wandered over to the edge of the cliff and stared down in awe. Behind her, she heard the crunch of footsteps on the flowers. She turned her head and saw an unfamiliar man looking at her. She smiled at him and he stepped forward. They stood together at the edge of the cliff, and she felt like shed known this stranger for years. They talked for awhile, and Zack informed Rinoa that they were in the Farplane, where people went after they died. Rinoa was shocked, as she knew that she had not died, but she did not want to return home. Zack looked at her, and the way she smiled reminded him of Aerith, the girl he left behind. But the more time he spent with Rinoa, the more he forgot Aerith.

Weeks passed, and then months, and Rinoa and Zack began to fall in love. But suddenly the flowers disappeared. They flew back toward her, as if her arrival had been reversed. When it was over, Rinoa looked around frantically for Zack. She knew she would not find him, however. She knew he belonged at the Farplane. He was with her one moment, but gone the next. She was scared, but she knew what had happened. She knew that he had to stay in that field of flowers. She wandered around the wasteland once again, but this time she felt a new sense of trust. She looked up at the sky, and she knew he was there.
