thats the first thing i do after i harvested them down here in Florida. Clean the outer shell, shuck it, serve it, enjoy and trash the empty shells. Yeah i also do that to clams.
wow there might be worms on the outter shell of the oyster but the oyster itself is still perfectly safe to eat and if you wanna get the worms off the shell just run the oyster under warm water
I dont want to try them they are finding a lot of LIVE WORMS in a lot of oysters now.Look real close if you dont believe me and you might see tiny worms moving about.GOOD LUCK this is TRUE.
you cane easily cut yourself opening them with a knife. Check out the OY Boy at oyster-opener,com

More protein... live worms wont survive gastric juices, so dont worry about that..
