Any Aeronautical engineers please respond to this question. Now that Boeing has the 787 complete and in production why can't they take the computer model and just scale everything down to say the size of a 737 and or a Smaller private jet. I've always heard that getting bigger is always the hard part but shouldnt an identical smaller size plane fly just as well? I ask because they scrapped the 737 redesign saying it was too costly seems like theyve already designed it, am I missing something??

If you mounted a 20mm cannon on the 787 it could take the Spitfires in a dogfight. Using its superior speed it could high yoyo and do slashing attacks from above. I'm glad Hitler didn't have 787's.
