Agreed- Why was he killed off?Was it the actor? I loved the guy who played Jonathan Kent. I would rather Lana be killed then Jonathan.

I think the writers made a big error he made alot of the show made me watch the show. the shows hasn't been as good without him.

@scarlett24ca ...Johnathan HAD to die though, that is straight up Superman mythology, his death paved the way for him to become Superman. I don't know how, but Johnathan's death is important. Schneider never wanted to leave the show, but the character HAD to die.

The whole idea of this mythology of superman is that the producer went with the idea of " No Flights, No Tights, slogan for smallville. Now the producers have no other choice to end the series with clark putting on the superman costume. This Whole Series was Awsome, and continues to beat all other tv series on any channel.
