Wouldn't it be more satisfying and cathartic if he started "giving it back" to those asshats who'd have become even more shameless over the night?
Just like in the other series, the other characters are mostly asses to him, as well?
I wonder if they tried to say something with that... like, giving a "sour note" to the whole "awesome new douchebaggery"?
Still, a PLOT HOLE!!! ;)

It's rather interesting how ALL of the douchey characters who've been exploiting Blackadder before his turn, now suddenly all act nicer before receiving the abuse.
The "royal family" comes with a reward rather than a request, the "fatties" just sing horribly but don't take his food as though it were theirs, and the others don't insult, con or exploit him either.
Even Baldrick, previously the "cynical counterpart" ("thin git"), is now all distraught at B's sudden character change.
