I have a refinished Late 60's model that I bought for cheap. it's amazing. It almost falls apart every time i play it. But It's one of the best studio basses I own (Aside from my trusty Fenders)

Thanks, Dave. Very interesting. Two questions: Is the guitar strung with flatwounds? What ranking would you give the quality/craftsmanship?

@tmo7734 flats, always. The quality of the old Hofners from 62-63 is superb. You cannot compare to the newer ones. From 64 onwards, there was so much demand, quality suffered, and the specs changed too.
