SAR - BAP 'Mariátegui' (Marina de Guerra del Perú) PARTE 1

El 7 de julio de 2010, la Comandancia General de Operaciones del Pacífico de la Marina de Guerra del Perú desplegó la fragata misilera clase 'Carvajal' (Lupo modificada) BAP 'Mariátegui' (FM54) en una misión SAR (Búsqueda y Rescate) a fin de recuperar al ciudadano español Fernando Martínez Rodríguez, tripulante de la nave pesquera 'Carvisa III'. Martínez Rodríguez requería de evacuación y atención médica inmediatas debido a una lesión sufrida que comprometió su ojo izquierdo. La fragata fue apoyada por un helicóptero Agusta-Sikorsky SH-3D Sea King de la AVINAV, el cual voló desde el Callao, se posó y reabasteció combustible desde la unidad naval en cuestión, cumplió exitosamente con la misión y trasladó al natural de España hacia el Centro Médico Naval, donde fue atendido por sus heridas.

Esta es la primera parte del video, sin editar (salvo en su extensión por cuestiones de espacio), a fin de transmitir de la mejor manera posible la experiencia sensorial de estar presente y (de ser posible) servir a bordo de una unidad de superficie de la MGP. La segunda parte se puede ver aquí:

On July 7, 2010, the Peruvian Navy's Comandancia General de Operaciones del Pacífico (Pacific Operations General Command) deployed the 'Carvajal' class (modified Lupo) missile frigate BAP 'Mariátegui' (FM54) on a SAR (Seach-And-Rescue) mission in order to retrieve Spanish citizen Fernando Martínez Rodríguez, a member of the crew of the commercial fishing vessel 'Carvisa III'. Martínez Rodríguez was in desperate need of urgent evacuation and medical attention due to severe trauma to his left eye, caused by an accident. The frigate was supported by a Naval Aviation (AVINAV) Agusta-Sikorsky SH-3D Sea King helicopter that flew all the way from El Callao, landed and refuelled aboard the warship, executed its mission successfuly and then carried the injured person back to the Naval Medical Centre, where he received medical care.

This is part one of the video, left unedited (except in length due to file size constraints) in order to transmit in the most accurate way the experience of 'being there' and (hopefully) serve aboard a Peruvian Navy warship. Part two can be seen here:
