  • When I watched this in class I found my heart being drawn into the story, with Ophelia, who's heart is obviously broken and who's faith and sanity have been stripped from her. She has lost everything...

  • her chuckle is so cute

  • This is how I pictured Ophelia. It just breaks my heart.

  • @greg11bishop I don't think he really did mean to reject her. I personally think that it was all part of his pretending to be mad. The whole is-he-really-mad-or-is-he-just-pretending thing really comes into mind in this version twice; at the scene where Polonius dies, when Hamlet sees his father's ghost and his mother doesn't and she asks him what is he looking at. The other is when Hamlet confronts Laertes during Ophelia's burial and yells about how much he loved her.

  • @asafk8 Yes I know she's gone mad; I've read the play :)

Yeah...Hamlet going mad, then him rejecting her, and then him killing her father (but I don't know if she knew if it was an accident). She was one of the only innocent characters but she got quite screwed...

  • @greg11bishop Because she went mad. The fact that it's all caused because of her father's accidental death by Hamlet, who thought it was Claudius and whom Ophelia thought loved her is what makes it so tragic.

  • I found the first part of her madness, where she's kinda humping, to be kinda amusing...

but this part, this part is just so... disturbing. Her little laugh, and the imaginary flowers, her face is still pink from crying, and the song... oh, it's just so terrible to see her so broken down...

  • I need to study this part for drama too XD this part is my Shakespearean monologue

  • OH MY GOD

    that was AMAZING!

    *mini spazz*

  • Well, no one out-crazies Ophelia :P
