A Republican commemoration for Irish Republican Army volunteer Martin Doherty who was shot dead by loyalists on the 21st of May 1994. Doherty though unarmed, confronted two loyalists who were attempting to bomb a packed Dublin pub. Martin was shot during a struggle with one of the gunmen and died a short time later. His actions on that night no doubt saved the lives of dozens of people.

The commemoration was attended by friends and family of Martin Doherty, Sinn Féin, The Martin Doherty Republican Flute Band, the Dublin Republican Flute Band, Ógra Shinn Féin and was led by an IRA colour party (Dublin Brigade).

  • Doco stood up to the Mid Ulster UVF. The North Armagh Brigade of the PIRA will never forget the sacrifrice that gave for his fellow people and his comrades at his side. We salute the PIRA unit that still fights for the rights of the Lurgan people for Irish Freedom. Victory to those who fight for their country. North Armagh PIRA
