@julyarchives Possibly one of the best. How about Spirit's "Nature's Way", Lake's "Between the Lines" or The Allman Brother's Band, "Whipping Post"? Something doesn't have to be the "Best" just because you love it. I'll continue my list; Traffic, Low Spark of High Heeled Boys", Stevie Winwood, "The Finer Things". CSN "Long Time Gone", The Byrds, "Eight Miles High", REO Speedwagon "Golden Country", ....Hendrix is horribly overated anyway.

YES! DONALD "DUCK" DUNN slappin the bass! They have a band powerful enough to turn goat piss into gasonline.

My first live NY-concert "after the wall" - good to see and remember that crazy ride from Berlin via Gera to Cologne, having so much wrong turns to find the "Tanzbrunnen" and than - a dream came true - Neil in person, real and live.
Thx for uploading!!

@vcx9dfne Actually his comment is more accurate than yours. I love everything Neil does, but this not one of his better renditions of All Along the Watchtower. It's not that the song is a little off, because Neil's playing has more to do with feel and emotion than it does precision It's a little shambolic to be honest.

Interesting set of musicians on that stage -- Neil Young with the greatest R&B studio band of the '60s, Booker T & the MGs, the guys responsible for the great Stax sound behind Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, Carla Thomas, Rufus Thomas, Wilson Pickett, etc.
Neil, you should have given Booker a solo! I would have loved to hear him work out on the Hammond B-3 on this great Dylan song.

@vcx9dfne Psychedelic Country Rock? Listen again again my friend, this a masterful performance of one Dylan's best by one of the 2 or 3 finest rock guitarists. It;s very sad you can't see that. Young's style is very unconventional. He doesn't so much play the guitar as he sttacks it. Pros like Young don't need much rehearsal. They practice to keep their skills sharp but can pretty much follow and/or lead an rythmn section,
@vcx9dfne
Neil Young doesn't need to rehearse....

it's funny how Neil Young sang about being washed-up and irrelevant as a musician as early as 79 on Rust, but is still probably the only one left from his generation who consistently puts on really great shows and plays with passion
