I don't understand this: Why didn't The S.O.S. Band have success in The 80's? Their stuff would have transfered nicely in The 80's; Why, this tune DOESN'T suck. Since this tune is funky, they would have been funky in The 80's. Oh well...

The origins of Soul Train can be traced to 1965, when WCIU-TV, an upstart UHF station in Chicago, began airing two youth-oriented dance programs: Kiddie-a-Go-Go and Red Hot and Blues. These two programs—specifically the latter, which featured a predominantly African American group of in-studio dancers—would set the stage for what was to come to the station several years later.

Great artists such as Stevie Wonder, Rick James, Aretha Franklin, Al Green, Ike&Tina Turner, Rufus Thomas, Jackson Five, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Bee Gees, Marvin Gaye, James Brown went by soul train tv show.- ;)
