i always listen to this when i am getting inspired to sing or be creative..etc. one of my fav. jazz pieces that never fails to put me in a great mood! he had inspiration so original that he tapped into..wish he was still here...would love to sing with him!...

@goe234 if you slow down the song and listen at 0.34 what he does is play 2 keys one after the other in very very quick succession to create the pitch bend effect. Effin amazing!

The Monk is the master of dissonance and syncopation.
Only Jazz players can sound like they're playing totally off key, yet make it sound awesome. It's like they take those lemon notes and make lemonade out of it
