remember, make sure you're GROUNDED before you touch your hard drive or a RAM DIMM to avoid a shock.

  • Hi CrashisGeek,

We saw your youtube video on how to install RAM into a MacBook. Thought it was pretty easy, so we decided to do it ourselves and save some money. We have been have some trouble in getting the right kind of RAM. Can you suggest a name brand and a type or model for us to purchase? We have bought two different ones from Kingston. The first one had the notch in the wrong place, then bought another one from Kingston with the notch in the right place, but it wouldn't boot up. Help!!!

  • @dconeal0227 go to crucial (dot com) /mac/index.aspx and use the "Crucial Mac Memory Advisor tool." It narrows your computer down to the exact model and brings up the RAM that will work for you. I've found that Crucial is the most reliable and cheapest place to get RAM for almost any computer. If you have any problems or need instructions, please email me crashisgeek@gmail.com (I usually don't respond to messages on YouTube, only emails) Good luck!
