Nice video but what about mentioning Treaty of Waitangi and how it was abused by the Crown.

The Empire was disbanded long ago, it's replacement was the commonwealth of Nations. A flag represents the identity of a country, As a Proud and Loyal Maori, i beleive we need a flag that represents our country and i am happy with the flag we have. New Zealand is made up of many cultures. So we need a flag that says "Hey I'm a New Zealander" And thats the feeling i get when ever i look at our current flag. I am a Maori, But i am also a New Zealander.

The people of Australia had no choice about having the Union Jack on the Aussie flag - the British House of Commons act of 1864 saw to that. It only a matter of time before we get rid of the relic of a dark chapter of our history.
