  • @rohannesburg he doesn't speak english, plus morimoto is over here in america, the all the chefs except for morimoto and kobe are in their late 60s and are retired or retiring (rokusabaru michiba is actually 82). chairman kaga is actually somewhat of a character, because the guys name is actually takeshi kaga, so the name is real but the character isnt.

  • I think the very first lineup of Iron Chefs here was the greatest lineup, followed closely by the very last. :)

  • @archo89 do you have the episode octopus battle between Chen Kenichi and Cheng Kazuhiko? :)

  • Ugh, they got lazy and messed up the opening sequence.

Got BOTH Iron Chef Japanese and Iron Chef French wrong.

This is my first viewing of an Ishinabe battle, so this'll be fun.

  • @EonFigure Ishinabe was the original Iron Chef French, Sakai wasn't an Iron Chef yet. It gets confusing because the title sequence has multiple discontinuites.

  • Where is sakai!? D:

  • Anyone know what battle is shown during the opening when that chef beats Hiroyuki Saki??

  • @PrinceOfAltea all true. but still, the American show pales in comparison to the original :)

  • @mokshalovely They aren't, but that's part of the "story", as it were. Don't forget that the man playing "Chairman Kaga" is also an actor, and the show is just that: a show put on for our entertainment while also showcasing the culinary advances in Japan by the top culinary artists.

That said, I also miss Kaga... his over-the-top-yet-refined style cannot be copied.
