The SLR Magic/Nokto 12mm f1.6 lens for Micro 4/3. This is from the premium line at SLR Magic/Nokto (which is evident from the green ring) and is a hell of a lens. Coming in at $499 it is $200 less expensive than the Olympus f/2 but it is also manual focus.

This lens performs beautifully and even doubles as a macro lens! The build is exceptional and it is quite heavy being all metal. You can see the full review at http:www.stevehuffphoto.com

  • Terrible jello effect. Nice lens.

  • @jjrdias Yes the E-P3 does have a bad Jello effect (when IS is on).

  • @stefehuff1969 did i see that correct? when you where taling about the "focus ring" you acually turned the aperture ring and it did NOT click into place but its smooth like a focus ring?

  • @TeddyImSuff Yes that is correct. There are a few lenses like the out there and this helps when changing aperture during video. No clicks or noises.

  • @Steve: Will this work on the sony NEX-7 ? Or will it Vignette very badly!?

  • @FlyLifeFilms It will not work on NEX - it is for Micro 4/3.

  • cheap chinese junk, FD lens with adapter is better

  • I don't know why so many people don't like the green/yellow ring?... I think on an all black body it would look bad ass!!!

  • @stevehuff1969 So does that mean you effectively get manual aperture control on a camera without manual video controls like the Panasonic GX1?

  • Green ring looks ridiculous though :)

  • That was a waste of time.

  • great. was looking at the Heliar 12mm F5.6 then i found this... :) am considering setting this up with the NEX (with an adapter)

  • Can you test it on the NEX 7, if you still have both. YES it will work on the NEX just buy a $20 M43rds to NEX adaptor and add it. Yes its that easy and I want to see how bad the Vignetting is. I am assuming it will not be bad and may not be noticeable at F4.

  • Can you include the official website for this brand lens?

  • can you attach UV filter on it?
