I use an EndFedz 20m as a sloper, at only about 20 feet and it works great. Strong reports from California, to Mexico, to New England, to Europe. Mine is a bit lower on the takeoff. I've never thought about fastening the coax to the bottom tie-off, but that seems like a good idea, as long as it wouldn't interfere with the pattern.
