  • You basically said the corporate owns the party.

  • I hope Obama beats McCain myself I am just trying to be realistic about what kind of changes he can actually bring when he needs the help of representatives and senators who are well paid by corporate money to make sure nothing changes.

  • It will be a fight but we need to do all we can to help. Your in texis right, right now McCain is up by 7 but Obama is on his way up. I dont think that Obama will win the state but we can make McCain put a lot of money and time into the state and help Obama in other states. I am in Cal and this is a safe Obama state, he is up by 18 here but I still and out here on the web trying to make people see what is really at stake her. We need to go a new way or go deeper in the truble we are now

  • What I am getting at is when the oilmen are out of office these companies can expect the same votes as long as they fund campaigns. This is the challenge that Obama faces. The insurance lobby to the best of my knowledge has never lost a fight at the national or even state level.

  • not a shock, there are two oil men in the white house now and if McCain gets in he will keep most of the people bush has around them and give big oil another $4bil in tax cuts. I dont know about you but I am working my ass off to make ends meet and I dont have health care. I need someone in the white house who will be more on my side then Bush and McCain have been. Even if Obama is not 100% the best he will do a hell of a lot better then McCain will on getting us going the right way

  • This how it played out where I live.

    Senator John Cornyn (R-TX)

Accepted $1,280,725 from the oil and gas industry since 2000.

Supported the industry in 100% of selected votes.

    Senator Kay Hutchison (R-TX)

Accepted $925,089 from the oil and gas industry since 2000.

Supported the industry in 100% of selected votes.

    Representative John Carter (R-TX31)

Accepted $139,900 from the oil and gas industry since 2000.

Supported the industry in 91% of selected votes.

  • I have seen what you are talking about and yea Obama is getting moeny from oil, but you need to see where its comeing from. Its not really comeing from the top, not from the people who own big oil, but from the workers. The Mom sitting at her desk trying to see that her kids get to school and are safe. The Dad who want to see his kid home from the war. The wife who hope that we get health care so they dont go bankrupted. This is the truth. Also look at the money comeing from solders as well

  • Mind if I pm you with a link to a site where you can enter your zip code and get the total amount of money donated to your law makers from oil companies and their percentage of voting for oil companies?

  • with the DNC in contorl of both the house and the senate you would see a lot of stuff happen with Obama in the white house. The top people in both the house and the senate are for Obama and will be with him and work with him to make stuff happen. If McCain was to get in you will see the house and senate act just like they are now and nothing will get done. Under Obama we will see change and with McCain more of the same. We need to try something new

  • Like I said I don't blame anyone for supporting Obama McCain is a nightmare and yes I think Obama will try hard but he will need the house and senate to get anything done and I don't have any faith in them because they have a long history of representing the people who paid to get them elected instead of the people who voted to get them elected.
