  • I remember my Dad walking exactly like Grampa LOL it was so funny.

  • good one,ol grandpa,i was just a kid when i used to watch this

  • @218able I was born up in Grant Co. WVa near Petersburg. My kin are from Tucker, Hardy,

Hampshire, Preston, Pocahontas, Greenbrier & Pendleton Counties along with Grant.

Its true I never heard any of the folks say "West Virginny" or "Californy" but it would depend

on how far back in the "hollers" you were what kind of speech you'd hear.

I remember my granduncles making their own moonshine and one, Emory VanMeter,

was the image of Junior Samples from the old HeeHaw show. WV folks are great!

  • I was a baby when this show started but my parents made sure that i saw clean TV shows...and that is what I am showing NOW

  • @218able Wow, take a pill, it's a sitcom, lol. Who ever took any of this seriously??!!

  • Mohawk. lol

  • I am a native West Virginian and I have NEVER heard one of my fellow citizens ever pronounce "California" as "Californy." Movever, I have never heard any West Virginian ever utter "West Virginy" for "West Virginia." This was just another show which sought to stereotype West Virginia as a state filled with barefoot, ignorant, and backward people.

  • She sure was a cutie, to be married into this brood.

  • Well, well, if it ain't Aunt Harriet herself, Madge Blake!!

  • SENOR SKOMSKY!
