  • The first 30 episodes were originally filmed and shown in black & white, despite Sidney Sheldon's efforts to have the series filmed in color from the start. He initially offered to offset the extra cost of filming each episode in color [about $400 each], but Screen Gems executive Jerry Hyams told him, "Save your money". Sheldon believed SG didn't think "JEANNIE' would last beyond its first season. Finally, when all 3 networks scheduled 100% color programs in prime-time in the fall of '66...

  • I think you're right--I remember the first season as b&w. This is about the best colorizing I have seen.
