Synopsis!
"The Spy Who Loved Me" (1977) is the tenth spy film in the James Bond series, and the third to star Roger Moore as the fictional MI6 agent James Bond. It was directed by Lewis Gilbert and the screenplay was written by Christopher Wood and Richard Maibaum. The film takes its title from the tenth novel in Ian Fleming's James Bond series, though as Ian Fleming requested that only the title of the novel be used, the film does not contain any elements of the novel The Spy Who Loved Me. The storyline involves a reclusive megalomaniac named Stromberg who plans to destroy the world and create a new civilization under the sea. Bond teams up with a Russian agent Anya Amasova to stop Stromberg.

The Spy Who Loved Me film was highly acclaimed by critics. The soundtrack, composed by Marvin Hamlisch also met tremendous success. The film was nominated for three Academy Awards amidst many other nominations and subsequently novelised in 1977 by Christopher Wood as James Bond, The Spy Who Loved Me.

About Song!
"Nobody Does It Better" is a power ballad composed by Marvin Hamlisch with lyrics by Carole Bayer Sager. It was recorded by Carly Simon as the theme song for the 1977 James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me. It was the first Bond theme song to be titled differently from the name of the film, although the phrase "the spy who loved me" is included in the lyrics. Released as a single from the film's soundtrack album, the song became a hit (reaching #2 on the US singles chart and #1 on the Adult Contemporary chart) and is still popular today. The song also received an Academy Award nomination for Best Song.

The title of the theme was later used for Carly Simon's 1999 greatest hits album, The Very Best Of Carly Simon: Nobody Does It Better.

In 2004, the song was honored by the American Film Institute as the 67th greatest song as part of their 100 Years Series.

.....Lyrics.....

Nobody does it better
Makes me feel sad for the rest
Nobody does it half as good as you
Baby, you're the best

I wasn't looking but somehow you found me
It tried to hide from your love light
But like Heaven above me
The spy who loved me
Is keeping all my secrets safe tonight

And nobody does it better
Though sometimes I wish someone could
Nobody does it quite the way you do
Why'd you have to be so good?

The way that you hold me
Whenever you hold me
There's some kind of magic inside you
That keeps me from running
But just keep it coming
How'd you learn to do the things you do?

And nobody does it better
Makes me feel sad for the rest
Nobody does it half as good as you
Baby, baby, darlin', you're the best

Baby, you're the best
Darlin', you're the best
Baby, you're the best ~ (4X)....End

  • When it comes to disguising, camouflaging, and anesthetizing "all the people, all the time" to the fact that our country has been 'captured' and fully "Occupied" by a global corporate/financial/militarist (and media) EMPIRE that hides behind the facade of its modernized Two-Party 'Vichy' sham of faux-democratic and totally illegitimate government -- just as surely as the Nazi Empire tried to hide behind its single-party 'Vichy" facade in France c. 1940 --- "Nobody Does It Better" than Obama.

  • Great song, although Sean Connery DID it better !!!

  • @roquefortfiles

    lmao...

  • James Bond will return....

  • A song that leaves you shaken AND stirred. :-)

  • @HappinessSeizure into something it wasn't. And Oddjob wasn't a midget, he was massive, and the hurling of the hat was taken straight out of the book, which is meant to be taken seriously, not comedically, and as for the villains in Sean's movies being dull- Robert Shaw in From Russia With Love is probably my favorite Bond villain of all time...

  • @HappinessSeizure I'm trying to see you're opinion, I just can't get my head that far up my ass, haha, I'm just kidding man, but I definitely have to disagree. I found Sean a perfect mix of the charm and seriousness of Bond, and I think Craig does a great job with the role, as far as relation to the book goes, Bond was a killer, and Craig plays the role like a killer. I feel like Moore didn't like the darkside of Bond and did his best to change that, therefore changing the character...

  • @HappinessSeizure sure there are some silly moments but the other bonds had plenty of them too, Oddjob? fucking midget with throwing hats? LMAO hilarity ensures, but no by that means we cant take Seans movie serious either. The villains were dull & rather redulnant aswell

  • @Bzamm615 Sean was to stiff & only good in goldfinger, Craig is a fucking moron who cant act for shit, I mean srs he is what ruined 007 for me, Casino royal? what a fucking joke.

Roger had this cool chill touch to him which made him so likeable & the comedy is not bad in 007 movies.

  • I bet Carly Simon could suck a golf ball through a mile of garden hose.
