My favorite Astaire/Rogers dance, the Smoke Gets In Your Eyes number from Roberta. I also included the wedding proposal (well, I suppose "acceptance").

It's relative. From Ginger's POV, Fred is doing it backwards. Give credit where credit's due. BOTH were outstanding dancers. BOTH were awesome.

i know they´re both great, but i hate it when her dress blocks the view of one of his legs even for a split second.

Ha ha, so modern; well you're welcome. Not a lot of sap. But c'mon Ginger was a goddess(godess?) in her day.

That "Ginger did everything Fred did" quote gets me because for a follow, which is what Ginger was, it's not backwards, it's just the way we do it.

I agree. I'm very young and have to experience the horrors of 1d and jb. Ik I was born I'm the century. Ik things weren't perfect then but they sure knew what was good quality music and dance. This made me cry(tears if joy)

Are people really arguing who worked harder on this piece - Fred Astaire or Ginger Rogers - just because someone quoted Faith Whittlesey? You can't be serious. Just let it go and enjoy the dancing. I doubt either Astaire or Rogers would have found this discussion anything but ridiculous.

mayathelittlelamb is simply quoting Bob Thaves or possibly Faith Whittlesey, who are in fact both American. Oh, and Astaire and Rogers were American, too. Where is your evidence that Zandra is American? And do all of them fail at this logic from childhood of which you speak?
