i had my red footed in some bad conditions, and i decided i had to do something better for it since it deserves it...so it just so happens that there are these old drawers that nobody in my house uses!!! so i set them up into a tostoise table, i am still thinking about putting another drawer i the enclosure but im not sure yet...enjoy..

  • that light is way way to close to him u might want to put it up higher.

  • yeah i know..both lights are too close, im working on finding new spots to put them though

  • what does the red light do???

  • its a night basking light, wehn i shut off the regular day/basking light i turn on the red light, whats cool is that the turtle barley sees it illuminating(glowing) because red is a color they dont see alot, so they'll sleep under the light and they wont be bothered because they dont notice the glowing red light.....i buy all my bulbs at local petsmart stores

  • tomatos give them the runs

  • @1993rockergirl if its a red foot then its recommended to feed fruit but not certsain ones(i dont think tomatoes are a good choice) check aroun on good for OK things to feed

  • i know you are not sopose to feed tortoises fruit but what about tomatoes and things like that, that are like veggies but are really fruit

  • orthacantus1234, you should feed them leafy greens like romaine and bok choy, vegies and fruit like carrots pumpkins mango mellon and tomatoes. feed them animal protein(optional) once a month. They need a largfe humid rain forest habitat kept warm and well planted. they do not hibernate and need a shallow water dish to bath in, warning!!! they cannot swim so make sure it is not too deep.

  • i'd put your likes on timers much easier if you haven't already.

  • what do they eat.i know they eat salad but what else?by the way do you have to put them in a desert habitat or in a forest habitat?

  • how isold your tortoise and whats the mian fod thay sould eat?
