I had new motor mounts and poly steady bar bushings installed, when I got it back I noticed a big wad of duct tape had been stuck to the inside of the hood/bonnet above where the alternator is, I guess they didn't think I'd notice ?, when I shifted it would hit and make ugly sounds, it clunks real hard when shifting, it's worse than when I dropped it off, $244.00 and my engine wobbles around loose, it just never ends.

  • Check the upper steady bar (between the brake servo and air filter box). One set of bushes at each end of the bar. Also make sure the bar is secured at the bulkhead end, this bracket can rust away.

  • @andyouandme Thanks, the upper dogbone seems to be the only thing keeping my engine in place, it has new poly (red) bushings, no rust anywhere, no movement at bulkhead, but wobble at head mount,

  • I'm not sure about that version of A series engine with aircon (Japanese import?), but there should also be a steady bar under the engine between the side of the gearbox and front edge of the subframe. If that one is Ok then it may be your engine mountings :-(
