100% Gold Star Expert Vocals performance on Vengeance Is Mine by Alice Cooper, as it appears in Rock Band 2 for PlayStation 3.

As is typical for my videos, the original vocals by Vincent Furnier (Alice Cooper's real name) are minimized so you can hear what I'm singing (much to your amusement this time I'm pretty sure).

This video requested by aljundis.

---

I don't have anything resembling Furnier's (extremely) raspy baritone, so I thought I'd experiment a bit by adding an odd gravelly sound to my voice. Unfortunately, that doesn't work at all in Rock Band. Rock Band simply won't register the tones properly, so I had to rein it in or break combo on this song. Doesn't sound nearly as good as it could as a result. :-/

On the technical side of things, this song is pretty easy to score aside from some strange melodies in the verses and some very tight scoring on some phrases.

  • Thanks again icemage.

For me, this is the toughest Alice Cooper song on vocals. Lots of low parts mixed with talkies like in the verses.

  • A hint on the low parts: Follow the guitar in the background. It plays the same notes as the vocals on those parts, only up 1 octave.

  • good job icemage. and those low notes still amaze me. :P

  • I actually did a full run on this song in its original pitches (1 octave up from what I'm singing here), but this lower register is much darker and punchier. I sounded like Popeye facing down Bluto when I did it in its original pitches. XD

  • I can never find the pitches in this song for some reason... This helps a lot.

  • Nice job Icemage :D This is a great song.

  • lol. well i tried singing along for the last "mine mine mine..." part and my range can't go that low for the last two "mine"s unless i switch octaves. :(
