netbooknews.it - Video recensione dell'ultimo netbook 11.6 pollici Acer, da poco disponibile in Italia per 399 euro.

Acer tries to repeat the success came by the Aspire One series with a new product, bigger than the others
but with a really alluring price.

The Aspire One 751 shows a 11,6 inch screen and a broad keyboard; the lot added to an ultra-thin design
and a hardware endowment in step with the rivals. Lets take a closer look at it.

The netbook weighs about 1,300 Kg, and measures 284X198X25,4 mm. It has the low consumption processor Intel Atom Z520, 1 Gb RAM, 160 Gb hard disk and Windows XP home installed.

On the right side we have 1 USB port, the VGA output to connect an external monitor and the multi-size
card reader.

On the left side, instead, we can see 2 additional USB ports, the current collector, the microphone and
earphones output and the Ethernet port. On the front side we find two on/off switches for the wireless card and the Bluetooth.

The large screen is the glossy type, and it can support a 1366X768 px resolution.
On the top is placed the 0,3 megapixel webcam and the inside microphone.

Like the usual for Acer models, the brightness of LCD display is remarkable, but on the other hand the
glossy surface reflects maybe too much the external environment. This could cause problems in the open
air, especially in sunny days.

Thanks to the big dimension of the LCD panel, Acer has placed a full size keyboard, with flat and more than
1 cm large keys. Unlike the other netbooks, writing with the Aspire One 751 is a pleasure and it doesnt
require a trial period.

Instead, the touchpad is standard, it supports the multi-touch functions and has only one big button that
performs the functions of the right/left button of a common mouse. To make the point, maybe the surface
could have been larger, so that you must not raise your finger to scroll completely the punter from side to
side of the display.

At the bottom of the Aspire one 751 we find three doors that allow to access the RAM, the WI-FI network
card, and the hard disk.
Like usual by now, Acer placed six studs on the base of the netbook, four on the case and two on the
battery, so that you can use the Aspire One removing the latter without any stability problems.

Good news with regard to noise and heating; the low consumption architecture used by Acer, allows the
netbook to stay steadily cool, and in rare cases you can hear the slight whoosh of the systems fan.

The Atom Z520 at 1,33 Ghz allows to save electricity and improve autonomy, but on the other hand, never
in such a way, it shows all its limits when we try to squeeze out just a little this netbook.

We found that performing high resolution file video and files in streaming from sites like youtube or vimeo,
it shows several problems.

However, the netbook is equipped to easily browse the web, but not much more.

Comparing with the competitor models, the performing differences are clearly visible and cant be
considered a marginal component.

Anyway, the hard disk has good performances, and the battery life brings near to the 8 hours declared by
the builder.

Added to the XP operating system, we find some usual applications, games and software pre-installed, like
the suite Windows live, Power DVD and an Office 2007 trial version, valid 60 days.

With the netbook is furnished the security suite McAfee, that apart from viruses protect, includes Firewall,
anti-spyware and family filter.

If the netbook had a better processor we were in front of an almost perfect 11inch, but with this performances we feel a little limited after a few days use.

However design, screen, keyboard and battery life are high grade, and the fact that its price is 399 euro makes it very attractive, above all for people who need high battery life and a very comfortable web browsing.
