Holy smokes!!!! You're fantastic Nina!!! =) I've never seen a performance like that before! I very much enjoy the sound of the flute!! Would love to see you play accompanied by a harp!! Those 2 instruments are simply magical together.

holding the flute horizontally should effect sound at all. for one, she's a professional player, and she has a head tilt.
if you hold the flute away from your body, your body is more relaxed and thus, you have more room for your lungs.
