Can you zoom on it?

You can zoom before you start recording but not during unfortunately. Most still cameras have this limitation with their video function. There are a small number of still cameras that do enable zoom whilst recording but are quite a bit more expensive. The video on this camera is great though- I have amazing videos from concerts I went to and the sound is incredibly clear and image crisp. It's a great camera if automatic is what you are looking for. Hope that helps. Joe
