To the people arguing whether or not the narrator is Jamie Lee Curtis or Debra Hill ... you're both wrong. The narrator is Kathleen Blanchard. She was credited for Escape From LA, but was uncredited for New York for whatever reason, but it was her in it.

@MountOlympusUnited Actually that's incorrect. The computer narrator voice is Jamie Lee Curtis. Blanchard did do Escape from LA though. Curtis bio on IMDb credits her for that roll.

The wire-frame computer graphics on the display screens in the glider were not actually computer-generated, as computers capable of 3D wire-frame imaging were too expensive when the film was made. To generate the "wire-frame" images, special effects designers built a model of the city, painted it black, attached bright white tape to the model buildings in an orderly grid, and moved a camera through the model city.

You can see the buildings move at 0:52...
