How to unlock Roy:

Complete Classic mode with Marth without using any continues.
Play 900 VS. Matches

You only have to do 1 of the above, and then face Roy in a melee to unlock him.

I played Classic mode in very easy with 5 lives to get it done quicker.

Was Roy from a game or a cartoon? Or both? Yes i know that i am probably stupid to not know who this character is?

Not at all. I don't know much about him myself. From what I've heard though, Roy was in a Japanese only Fire Emblem game. Therefore, it's not at all stupid that you do not know who he is. I've never heard about him being in a cartoon though, but like I said before, I don't know much about him myself.

No character is really better than any other. I personally prefered Marth, but I know that a lot of people prefer Roy. It's all about opinion. Some characters are more suited to someones fighting style than others. Also, it's pretty hard to compare characters like Marth and Roy anyway, as they are clones of each other and have very similar movesets.

@ShAd0wHaWk911 How f*cking dare you insult Ike. If you compare the two from the Fire Emblem games, Roy is a puny little fly compared to Ike. I should know because I own both Sword of Seals and Radiant Dawn. *Calming down*. What I meant to say is that if anything, BOTH of them should be in Brawl with Marth and maybe a few other FE characters. Sorry, I just hate it when people make fun of Ike just because of the edits Nintendo made to him in Brawl. Also Roy's my 2nd fav lord in FE.

@allooutrick You are definetly wrong! ;) Roy is from Fire Emblem (Along with Ike & Marth). Funny thing about Roy is that Super Smash Bros. Melee came out before his actual game (Fire Emblem: Fuin no Tsurugi). But Roy sucks in that game before you get the Sword of Seals (The sword he weilds in Melee & direct translation of Fuin no Tsurugi). He's actually 2nd my favorite lord in FE (Ike for the motherf***ing won!!!!!!!!!!) and Sword of Seals was my first FE game. *Bell rings* G'head.

i mean, i like marth, but hes not as good in brawl like he is in melee(at least that's how i felt)

I as better with roy

and i get it, ike is redundent of roy movewise (charge sword)

but ike is slow... UGH

i miss roy so much :( xD at least with him i could do that annoying special b sword move

They should've just had Marth, Roy, AND Ike in Brawl instead of taking Roy out.
