Open by a crew of industry-vets in Pacific Places's former Todai sushi spot, this swanktastic 230-seater transforms from a bar/resto serving-up locally-sourced pan-global goodness, into a 400+ capacity dance spot after dark; all in a space dominated by a circular cherry-wood bar over which sits a giant ceiling installation illuminated by fiber-optics and LEDs, but not GEDs, since that would only bring your dropping out of high school to light. Drinkwise, they've got a number of fresh-fruit infused takes on classic 'tails like the Mexipolitan with tequila, fresh-lime, jalapeno & cilantro; a light rum/mango nectar/pomegranate puree Mojito; and the lychee puree/fresh lime/tequila White Tiger, which really isn't very enlightened even if he did go to Stanford. Grub goes small plates (tuna/salmon/lobster/lime/curry oil/mango Spicy Rainbow Ceviche), sandwiches (Coconut Curry Chicken Baguette w/ Viet-style pickled slaw), and mains like Lobster Pad Thai w/stir-fried egg & crushed peanuts -- look, everyone knows you miss being in the paper but Charles Schulz is dead. Deal with it.
