50th Anniversary of Tibetan National Uprising Day

People's Preacher speaks at 50th Anniversary of Tibetan National Uprising Day. March 10th, 2009 marks the 50th National Uprising Day. Half a century ago on this day in Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet, more than 30,000 Tibetan rose up against the brutal illegal occupation of Tibet by China and Called for the Tibet Independence. For the next half century, Tibetans have been suffering immensely under the Chinese Occupation. More than 1.2 Million Tibetans have lost their lives as a direct result of the Chinese Occupation of Tibet. Just in 2008 alone more than 209 Tibetans were killed, thousands were detained and tortured.
