The muñeira (Muiñeira in Galician. Means milling) is a popular dance of the Spanish regions of Galicia, Asturias and Leon to sing and dance accompanied by bagpipes, drums or the drum, tambourine (pandeireta), drum tambourine (pandeiro), bass drum, and sometimes the shells (scallops). There are no clear references to the earlier sixteenth century. They say the muñeira was danced inside and outside the mills in Galician-Muíños while awaiting milling.
