This ad first appeared at the end of 1950, including this excerpt from "THE COLGATE COMEDY HOUR". I've also seen this on an unaired audition kinescope of "THE DENNIS DAY SHOW"; Colgate-Palmolive-Peet, who sponsored Dennis' radio show on NBC in 1950, wanted him to go on TV for them. So they produced, through their ad agency, a "pilot" for a proposed Dennis Day comedy/variety show on CBS, with commercials for Palmolive Soap [this one] and Colgate Dental Cream. However, CBS passed on the idea.
