Recipe below!!
And while you are picking up the bread dough...don't forget the pie!

This is the end product of 12+ hours of labor my wife put into making beer rocks from scratch. All that work only yielded about 30 beer rocks. She also made a cherry pie the same way I do.

HERE IS THE RECIPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1. Make homemade bread dough, or buy frozen dough. (aprox. 6 loaves)

2. fry up 5 lbs of hamburger and drain.

3. Dice and boil 1 large head of cabbage in water for about 20 min.

4. Combine cooked beef and cabbage, add salt and pepper to taste, mix well.

Take a ball of dough and flatten to about the size of a small plate, 5-6".

Place shredded Mozzarella cheese on the dough first. Then add heaping spoon of meat mix.

Pinch the dough around the mix. Bake 350 until golden/brown. This will be placed on a greased and floured cookie sheet. For a softer bread, brush with melted butter and eat right away or store in Ziplock while still warm for even softer bread.

YUMMY!

You can do anything for the filling. You can make a pizza pocket or a breakfast sandwich. The only trick is to put the cheese on the dough first, and then any filling on top of the cheese. Wrap and pinch the dough and bake. You have a calzone, or a bierock, or anything you want. If you don't pinch the dough well enough, then a lot of the cheese oozes out. As you can see in the video.

Linda's Homemade Bread Recipe!

3 1/4 tsp dry yeast
2 1/2 cups of warm water
2 Tblsp of shortening
3 Tblsp of sugar
1 Tblsp of salt
6-7 cups of white flour
Put warm water in bowl. Add fresh yeast and sugar to dissolve. Let stand about 5 minutes then add salt, melted shortening, and 3 1/2 cups of flour. Beat smooth. Add the rest of flour slowly until thick enough. Cover with towel and let raise. Divide in two parts on bread board, knead, and place in pans. (You need to grease and flour the pans)
Let rise AGAIN. Bake 40-50 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Pull out when golden brown and baste with butter if you want a soft crust or leave plain for a crunchy crust.

Bread maker recipe (its pretty good, but it is nothing compared to the homemade dough or frozen dough)

1 1/3 cup of warm water
1 1/2 Tblsps of olive oil
1 1/2 tsps of salt
2 Tblsps of sugar
4 cups of flour
2 tsps of dry yeast
Place all ingredients in the bread maker in exact order they are listed.
Once the flour is added, put a small dent in the center of the flour only 1/2 inch deep.
Then add the dry yeast in this small hole you created. (be sure when making the dent that you do not make the hole so deep that it reaches the liquid) Start the machine and follow the bread maker instructions for "dough."

Craig's frozen dough recipe (EASIEST AND IT TASTES GREAT)

Go to nearest grocery store
Go to freezer section
Grab a 3 pack of dough
Bring dough home
Let dough thaw and follow directions, LOL!

  • I love Bierochs, my grandmother would make them for me and I would take them back to college. Simple, but sooo good. Was a lot better than the boxed macaroni and hot dogs I lived on otherwise. :)

  • @SDLEIKAM I bet no one made em like Grandma.

  • @MrsArdyia Thank you, we don't make a lot of things from scratch, but when my wife makes this...it goes fast, lol.
