  • so i dont know if i should buy aa or aax .

I play alot, from red hot chili peppers to avenged sevenfold.

    Help?!

  • @ThePurpleDrumStick I am not a big fan of aax, except for chinas. AA is my fav by far out of the two. Brighter, more attack and projection. If you have the bucks grab a HHX-Plosion crash. I will put up an updated cymbal video soon, I have done some upgrading.

  • Hey uh, I have been drumming for maybe 13 years now but most bands I listen to they have whats called a "Fast hat' if you listen to BTBAM you will know exactly what I mean. The middle cymbal in between the two splashes is basically what I'm pointing at. How are they made? do you stack a mini china on top and a splash on bottom? I've always wanted one but I don't know what they are...

  • @vod49 It is called a Max Stax. Its a Mike Portnoy signature cymbal(s). It is exactly as you figured. You can stack them either way, but to put the splash on top saves alot of stress off of the bent edge of china.

  • why do you prefer the aa over the aax? just wondering

  • @DEADMANSJOURNAL I have a severe preference for bright cymbals. The aax are washy and have a soft attack. I do use them for chinas though. It seems to compliment those types of cymbals more than crashes.

  • ...no wonder your crash is broken. Look how tight you have your cymbals. They hardly move. To preserve the life of your cymbals, you should loosen then up, give them some room to move.

  • yer gay

  • Loosen up your crashes and they'll last a lot longer.

  • dude, you really have to loosen up those crashes. not only will they crack sooner, but it completely chokes the sound.

  • those cymbals barely even move D:

    loosen up man

  • maybe i missed something but do you have a ride cymbal in the video you had none
