IDF and General Security Services forces on Sunday uncovered a tunnel leading from within Gaza to the Karni crossing between Gaza and Israel. The tunnel entrance, located in a private house in Saja'iya, led to a 150-meter-long (500-foot) tunnel at a depth of 13 meters underground. It was evidently intended for use by terrorists to carry out terror attacks at the crossing. IDF is taking actions to neutralize the tunnel and prevent its use by terrorists.
"We have successfully hurt much terror infrastructure. Our biggest success is the locating and detonation of the terror tunnel that was intended to be used in terror attacks," said Colonel Moni Katz, Northern Brigade Commander in the Gaza Division.
