People have been asking whether Christmas is tainted this year by my "unbelief." Actually, the opposite is true. here's why.

  • X-Mas was never people taking Christ out of Christmas.X-Mas is actually a pulled from an extremely old way of saying Christ-Mass.X being the greek letter for"Chi"which is one of the first ways that Christ was written in ancient scripts. So a looong ways back people shortened Christmas (meaning Christ Mass)to X-mas(Still meaning Christ Mass). The recent 4:5 decades has given birth to many... not-so-intelligent people and this was lost in the blur of stupid. Btw, like the video.

  • As a little kid I always loved Christmas. All the families would go over to my oldest uncle's house then another uncle would dress up like Santa and pass out presents to all us cousins. All the lights, the music and all the food, really great memories. After I started school I remember thinking it was a funny coincidence that Christians were celebrating Jesus’ birthday the same time we were Christmas. All my family are Buddhist, I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

  • Most people who celebrate Christmas are practical atheists and just do it for traditional or commercial reasons. Celebrating the birth of the Jesus on December 25th was a tradition that was started around the 4th century and intentionally set to replace a pagan holiday. Clever strategy. But if it makes you happy to celebrate the birthday of someone who's short life on earth has done more to better the quality of life for everyone on the world without giving Him the credit... that's just odd.

  • Interesting.

When one takes a step back from the religious confines, he/she most certainly embraces other worldviews.

Good to see you and your family having a great time eating cookies and celebrating... holidays.

  • Every culture has a changing of the seasons celebrations. In the Northern hemisphere Vikings had been celebrating the winter solstice with their trees and such for centuries before Christianity was made up. Christ mass is a catholic invention; founded on pagan mythologies to unite the diverse population of Rome in order to maintain the authority of the church. As an atheist you can do whatever you want; we are free of delusions about supernaturalism, that does not require giving up fun.

  • @PkMeo that's pushing your beliefs on a person. some people do think that way but that's isn't your decision to make for others

  • I never would've seen it that way, Happy Holidays is a better terminology. and i respect your decision of being open-minded and trying other cultures customs. and like you this is my first Christmas as not being bound by religion nor God.

  • Hey Sister, I have been trying to tell people for a long time; Jesus is NOT God, and is NOT Gods Son, He was a very blessed and powerful Messenger of Allah ( God in the English language). He relayed the same message - just worship Allah alone and do not ascribe or associate partners, it really is so simple but as you can see people are getting this simple thing wrong. I haven't uploaded the full version yet ( will soon Insha' Allah) but have a look at the sample and gimme your initial thoughts.

  • @KelseyLRichardson

Because most religions claim that they alone are correct. In Christianity, Acts 4:12 of the Bible says that Jesus is the true path, ONLY Jesus can give you salvation. Everything else is a lie.

  • Enjoy the winter solstice beautiful atheist woman
