No. The 500 has different dimensions. The differences I can see is that the 500 is designed to use the low profile bladder, and this one is designed to use the regular 100oz bladder.

What would you suggest as something that could attach to molle directly. Enough room for 2 MREs, PVS7 night vision, basic first aid, and a nalgene water bottle (all inside cargo) ? Help would be appreciated

@labartic When it comes to this pack, i'm not sure a MOLLE pouch is your answer for fitting all of that, I beliebe you'll want to look into a larger pack like a HAWG.

I'd say there's enough room in the bottom pouch for a broken down MRE and the sleeve pouch on top...well, my whole hand can fit in it but you'll want thinner items in that one...and of course you have the PALS webbing on the front to expand with additional pouched with PALS/MOLLE/ALICE attachments.

If you're looking for a hydration bladder with some light load carrying capabilities...most definitely. Just used it at a Tactical Response course and it worked great, and I wasn't the only one there with this pack!

@DUFFYXX its not waterproof but it dries fast. Flipped my canoe over in cost rica with my friend everything inside got soaked but the pack it self dried within 7 min, and of course the water bladder is 100% waterproof
